London, 17 January 2024 – Student Roost, one of the UK’s largest purpose-built student accommodation (“PBSA”) providers, has announced the appointment of Ashling Fox as Managing Director. Ashling will oversee the Student Roost management team and work closely with Greystar to deliver the business’s growth agenda by creating an optimised platform through asset and operational enhancements.

Ashling joins from Bromford Housing where she was Chief Customer Officer responsible for building safety and business transformation functions for Bromford’s 46,000 homes and more than 100,000 customers. She brings more than 20 years of experience in the housing and financial services sectors, delivering change projects across network operations, IT, customer service and business partnerships to deliver service improvements and new strategic propositions.

Ashling Fox said: “Student Roost is a trusted brand for student experience, and I look forward to working with the Greystar team to deliver our growth plans to help address the student housing shortage. Student Roost sets out to provide students with their home away from home, so we put their health and well-being at the heart of our professionally managed accommodation.”

Bella Peacock, Senior Managing Director of Asset Execution – Europe, Greystar, said: “As we look to Student Roost’s next phase of growth, the business will benefit from Ashling’s experience and the insights she has acquired across her career. We look forward to working with Ashling, the Student Roost team and our partner GIC to create places across the length and breadth of the UK that Student Roost’s community of residents are proud to call home.”

Ashling holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law & Spanish from Bristol UWE and an Executive MBA from Henley Business School.

Student Roost was acquired by GIC and Greystar in December 2022 and comprises more than 26,000 beds covering key UK student cities. The venture leverages the collective expertise of Greystar and GIC in the living sectors and Student Roost’s local operational knowledge.
